Hey All, I hate to start off with a lack of updates already, but I have been taking a Project Management course for the last few days. I think this course will be beneficial for my current job as well as all my affiliate sites. I really didn’t realize how much work PM’s actually do. It is a lot more difficult than I thought. Eventually I want to get my certification, but that will take a little longer.
Also, am working with some other people on some top secret projects which I will release in due time. I think they could be pretty amazing, and have a ton of potential, but it will take some time to get everything up and running.
Hopefully in the next few days I will get some better posts up here, but for now I need to get back to studying. Thanks for stopping by! Graham.
Graham,
I think every good business or company project needs a good project manager. Whether it’s building a house or a large web business, somebody needs to bring all the fine pieces together.
I imagine this is going to be a very beneficial class long term. If only I had the time to go back and take some classes.
Project managers… ahhh – all the responsibility without any of the authority! Role for a politician more than anything.
Certified as a PM and spent 7 odd years (out of 10 total) in this practice for a corporate – feel free to PM me on PAW (‘mftpg’ there) if you get stuck with anything!
Nice blog btw – looking forward to further posts.
Cheers, Mark
Thanks Jeremy and Mark for the comments.
Mark, I may just have to take you up on that. I never realized how long it took to become certified by PMI. Basically the soonest I could probably do it would be 3 years, but the reality is much longer. I ended up passing this one, and I am already registered for my next course which is “Leadership in a Project Team Environment”, so it should be pretty interesting. I realized a lot from this last course, and a ton of these practices can be applied to my day to day business activities.
